Fish curry is a very famous dish among Indian Families. Fish curry and rice is a staple food for many. Every region has its own version of fish curry. Fish curry goes best with hot steamed rice. This is a very comforting and delicious dish. The aroma of the mustard oil, delicious sweet water fish and the pungency of the yellow mustard is what makes this fish curry scrumptious.
My version of fish curry has an inclination towards the Bengali version of fish curry i.e. Macher Jhol, but it is not exactly the same. Also, i have not added potatoes unlike Bengali fish curry. I have used Rohu fish in this recipe. You can always use your favorite fish. Also i have pureed the tomato along with the soaked yellow mustard seeds but tomato puree and mustard paste can be used separately.
